The earliest method of calculation is known as a Vedic mathematics. This was discovered from the Vedas, hence named as ‘Vedic Mathematics. This technique of calculation was by applying simple rules, formulae, and principles. By using Vedic mathematics, they find the solutions to many difficult problems. Problems like algebra, arithmetic, geometry, statistics, trigonometry, probability and lot more were solved by Vedic mathematics. It is nothing but a collection of different techniques applied together to get the result.
During the ancient times, people used to solve many mathematical problems using some shortcuts, which are now called as 16 mathematical formulae or the sutras, which are derived from the Vedas. Vedic mathematics was presented by the Hindu scholars and mathematicians named Bharati Krishna Tirthaji Maharaja in the early 20th century. By using this technique, they used to prepare the calendar and guide the people about the festivals, eclipse, direction, etc.
There is more importance of learning Vedic mathematics and it should be introduced in all education institutes, including the CBSE, ICSE schools from their lower classes, in order to increase the concentration and the confidence level in the students.
The several benefits of Vedic mathematics to the students are:
It reduces the effort and time of students.
This removes the fear of mathematics in students.
It is very easy to understand and easy to remember.
Vedic mathematics helps a student to solve a problem very quickly.
By performing the calculation in mind, one can increase their self-confidence.
Vedic mathematics reduces the use of many steps, formulae, calculations, etc.
Vedic mathematics increases the students concentration in mathematics and their memory power.
There is no need to memorize, practice the formulae, summarize the theorems during the exams.
Vedic mathematics increases the speed and one can be perfect in solving different problems in mathematics.
Many tough problems can be solved very easily, by using 16 mathematical formulae in Vedic mathematics.
Any student who is poor in mathematics can easily improve themselves in learning Vedic mathematics. Learning this technique, students can solve mathematical problems in an easy and fast manner which can be helpful during their CBSE class 12 board exams and other competitive exams.
These are few points about the importance of Vedic mathematics. Students can subscribe to the BYJUS YouTube Channel and watch interactive video lessons on various math and other exam related topics.
